In case you are wondering what Lardass is up to now...he's now a pirate.
Specifically, Andy Lindberg (the actor who played Lardass in the film when he was back in college or so), has a decent career as an actor and musician in the Portland, OR area. He's still a bit on the hefty side, but in better physical shape than when he played Lardass.
Currently, his most notable role is as a guitarist/singer/songwriter for the pirate themed rock band Captain Bogg and Salty. He's a classically trained vocalist with a great voice...oh, and he does a mean Elvis impersonation.
Lindberg's website is here. If you search around a bit, you'll find TONS of pictures taken during the production of Stand by Me.
Just so you know, Andy was not in college at the time of filming. I went to high school with Andy, at Lincoln High School in Portland, Oregon. We were in the play "Guys and Dolls" together, during my sophomore year, his senior year. This was Spring of 1988. At this point, Stand By Me had been out for awhile. Andy is a class act guy, funny, and an awesome guy, not just extremely talented as an actor and musician.

Stand By Me never gets old. You could just smell the vomit while watching that part. Phew.
